Final blog on ICASA….

I am happy to announce in this final posting the formal establishment of the ICASA (International Collaboration on ADHD and Substance Abuse) Foundation.
On September 2nd the formal documents were signed at the notaries office in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

On former occasions I informed you on developments related to ICASA meetings, decisions on our first project, the International ADHD in Substance use disorders Prevalence (IASP) study, and on future projects.

We will update new developments related to ICASA via the ICASA website – www.adhdandsubstanceabuse.org- Website imagemeaning that this will be the last blog I post here.

I’ll give you one more time a summary of the ICASA goals.

ICASA will use high quality collaborative research for:
- increasing the quality of diagnoses and treatment of ADHD in Substance Use Disorders (SUD) patients;
- decreasing the number of ADHD patients (mainly children and adolescents) that develop SUD, by developing, testing and implementing methods for prevention.

If you think you or your institute can participate in projects that fit in these goals, please contact us.

ICASA is also looking for funds and research grants. We need funding for maintenance and development of our network, and we need research grants for the research projects necessary for reaching our goals. If you or your organization can contribute to this, please contact us.

You can reach ICASA via info.icasa@trimbos.nl or via me (E gvandeglind.icasa@trimbos.nl T ++31 302971101).

Thanks a lot for reading this blog! I invite you to visit the ICASA website.
Good luck,
Geurt van de Glind
